Production Contents Page

Contents page
To produce my contents page I used Quark. I found quark was difficult to use when I first used it but then I found it easier as I used it more throughout the lessons. When I used it more I found that my work was progressing and looking more professional.

Production Double Page Spread

Double Page Spread
We used Quark again to produce our double page spread, this time I found it slightly easier because I had used it to produce my contents page. I thought that my double page spread would be harder to produce but I really enjoyed making it. This took us 2 lessons to complete it.

Article Research

Three young Dubliners took on the world, with music fashioned from the emotional detritus of their own hard lives raised up by a love of pop, rock, hip hop and soul. In two years they notched up a handful of hit singles, including ‘We Cry’, ‘Breakeven’ and ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’. Their 2008 debut album, ‘The Script’, went to number one in the UK and Ireland, approaching 2 million world wide sales. They played stadium shows with music heroes U2, Take That and Paul McCartney. They played a triumphant homecoming set at Ireland’s Oxegen festival before 78,000 fans and won Best Live Performance at the 2010 Meteor Awards (beating their mentors U2). And to cap it all, ‘Breakeven’ became one of the slowest climbers in US pop history, eventually hitting the top of Billboards Adult Pop Song radio airplay chart after 40 weeks on release. ‘Breakeven’ has sold over 1.7 million downloads in the US alone. But that was just the first draft. Now it’s time to write a whole new Script. The scene is a recording studio in London. Two young Irishmen are listening to playback. Handsome, dark haired Danny O’Donoghue is The Script’s charismatic vocalist and keyboard player. Shaven headed Mark Sheehan is their intense, loquacious guitarist. Third member, friendly but taciturn drummer and multi-instrumentalist Glen Power is in an adjoining studio, laying down a beat. Danny and Mark cannot sit still. They are leaping about to the music blasting from huge speakers, an addictive blend of hip hop rhythms, flowing melodies, sparkling hooks and emotive, story-spinning lyrics, with Danny’s mellifluous soulful vocals riding high over huge, anthem choruses. This is their forthcoming second album, ‘Science And Faith’, and it is fair to say the band are excited.

    Evaluation

For homework we got told to produce and evaluation of the workwe have produced though out the the lessons,in cluding contenets page and front cover.

In our lesson we got told to produce a front cover and a contents page,i found the front cover alot easier to produce rather than the contenets page. This was because i have never worked with Quark but i have worked with photo shop which i find a lot easier with working with it in the past. Before we produced our front cover and contents page we had to draw a sketch of the work we wanted to end up with. We did this on an A4 peice of paper, after we produced this we had to get it checked by our teacher so that we could continue working on it.

My magazine Alert covers everyday life in Weatherhead also its covers the most important prospects of Weatherhead aswell. The target audience of my magazine is for students of Weatherhead.

I could of made my front cover better because i could of followed the codes and conventions better than what i did.My contents page doesnt follow all the codes and conventions because i wasnt comfortable with using Quark.
